CASE 9:
Xanthoma of tendon sheath



PROBLEM

20 Years, Male, swelling over the finger - one yr. Insidious onset. Slowly growing. Painless. Discomfort with activity

Swelling over the palmar aspect of mid-finger. Globular in shape. 3x3 cm,1x1 cm in size. Skin over the swelling was normal. Not warm, Not tender. Soft in consistency. Mobile transversely. Not attached to the skin or bone. Size remains same with tendon contraction



DIAGNOSIS

XANTHOMA OF TENDON SHEATH

GCT of tendon sheath. Benign tumor of histiocytic origin. Relatively common in adults. Painless swelling. Rarely erodes the bone. Treatment is marginal excision
